Whats the easiest way around the stupid copyright protection that is preventing me from playing Most DVD's on my PC. I looked around but didn't really find a clear answer. These are regular store bought DVD's on a NEC-2500

? Never had any problems playing any commercial DVD on my PC... - pop it in, open PowerDVD, press play - that's it!?!

I agree with Mats.
Just fire up your player and hit play. -
Copywrite protection? Your problem aint copywrite protection (coz its LAW "in all English based societies that use common, civil, or statute law"...ie you can play it but you cant copy it....unless as a backup of some form).
If it dont play on your pc then take it back..you paid for it....and a pc is just a valid DVd player as a standalone (and there is nothing anyone can say to dispute you....because its the TRUTH).
