  1. Hi there,

I am unsure of the best way to hook-up my families new Daytek DVR. What I am unsure of is I do I hook up my digital box first then hook up to my DVR. I have cable in/out on my digial box as well as Svideo and component out. Do I hook up cable directly to my DVR or will it read the channels provided by my box.

I am in Canada on Shaw Cable, one of 2 major providors. I would appreciate the hook-up sequence as the instructions don't specify the best way to hook things up.

    thanks

  2. cable box > dvd > tv

The important thing to keep in mind with digital cable is that you need to change channels thru the cable box.

  3. Thanks,

So would I have to leave the DVR tuner on channel 3? Is there any detailed intructions/flowchart type guide that someone can point me to?

    Thanks

  4. If you are using coax between cable box and recorder then yes. You'll get better quality using s-video or even composite cables.
