What I'm looking for is a way to backup encrypted DVDs using two drives. The first to read (DVD-ROM) and the second to write (DVD-R), hopefully at the same time.
I understand that there are compression issues and I will need to compress the full disk down to a DVD-R size, and I hope to use DVDShrink for this, because I've used this at work a few times and like it. But that was only for reading THEN writing. But at the same time I'm willing to spend a few bucks to buy a program that makes this easier.
So if anyone knows a way to cut down on copying time by writing at the same time as reading (and decrypting), please let me know.
Thanks.![]()

On the fly is rarely encouraged.
It is better to rip the dvd to the hard drive first then burn. -
I've tried this what you get is crappy dvds. What I finally did was to invest in a faster burner Pioneer108 and use the fastest dvd+ on the market. It cut down the burning time big time.

Thanks....
Just providing the "on-the-fly" search term was enough to get me going in the right direction on this topic looking at other forums. That and if I try it I'll make sure I've got my drives on seperate IDE cables.
