    All of the JVC DVD players already do excellent PAL to NTSC conversion except they will be locked to region one if bought in the USA so all you need to do is make a PAL to PAL back-up so that the back-up is region free.

    You can buy a JVC pre-modded to be region free but you have to buy it that way ... no easy way to make it region free youself sans a hack that requires soldering and buy the time you buy the hardware to do that you might as well just buy a pre-modded version.
