Uh, have you heard of updating nero instead of wiping out SP2?

I run Nero 6.6.0.3 on both computers with SP2 and no issues.

You are doing alot of unnecessary work.

    Update them as well

When SP2 first came out, there was a list of apps that have problems.

Those apps have now been updated to work with SP2.

  5. "Many other apps"?

Care to name a few? There aren't many programs that won't work with SP2. Of those with problems, it has to do with DEP. Turn DEP off and SP2 should work with just about everything.

  6. Let's make this thread positive and about identifying and sorting out these problems with SP2. None of the nonsense we've seen all too many times before.

I sense a "sterness" in your words...

  8. I am in the holiday spirits. It's called Jamaican rum.

Just don't want to have to pick up the pieces on Christmas morning, that's all.

Anyway, an intelligent SP1 vs SP2 thread may yield important information - I'd love to keep one on track at least.

    Take it easy mon,

Finally installed SP2 when I reformatted my machine last week. Updated all my apps. Zero issues so far.

I was trying to use my iPod on my PC.....and I was getting errors and all kinds of shit with XP SP2. Un-installed SP2 and my iPod works excellent with iTunes.
