Ripped DVD how to edit

I have a DVD that I " Ripped " ( I THINK ), onto my hard drive.


1. What software do I know need to EDIT the DVD ????

Theres a list of a few. Found under "tools" in the "LISTS" section on the left of the screen <-----

Also tmpgenc and virtualdubmod are very good tools.

It all depends on what you want to do to them.

I dragged these files off my dvd.

VTS_01_0

VTS_01_1
VTS_01_2
VTS_01_3


I am able to view the VTS_01_1 / 2 / 3 files with various programs but not all.

What are those files ?

Are they DVD formatt ??? Are they avi, mpeg 1,2 what are they ?

Now that I have those files on my hard drive I want to edit them, but I have no idea what program to use to edit those files.

I DON"T want to convert if its not necessary ( there MUST be some kind of software to edit those files directlly ? ).


Is there ANY editting software that will alllow me to import those files and work with them ????

If not then how does everyone go about editing DVD video ???

PLEASE refrain from being lazy and expecting people to go running around doing all the reading / research for you, and then have them present it in a nice itsy bitsy way so you can take it off the sliver platter it was served on and be lead by the noise whilst putting in minimal effort.

Those who help themselves earn the respect that's due and are more likely to then get help from others.

Read, research, and only then ask for help when you're stuck - not when you can't be bothered to try in the first place. If you've already done the legwork - say so, and make reference to what you've used so people can get a handle on what you're following.

Does dvdshrink JUST convert the video files to ONE file or is it is recompressiong the files ? If its recompressing then its of no use.

BTW...you will also need the .IFO files to edit in DVDShrink.
DVDShrink saves as DVD files(ready for burning) and will only compress(transcode) if you want it to.
You also need to have a nice attitude or nobody will help you.

Those people who are posting links are PROS who are trying to educate you. First of all, you have not made any effort to learn anything. Second, you have started two threads for the same topic. Did you expect different people to answer it?

In the time you spent complaining about those people, any one of them could have managed the task you are attempting. If you really want their help, don't irritate them, learn from them. If you just want them to do it for you...pay them!

I know how to do it, and I have done it before, many times in fact, but I'm not going to describe it in a blow-by-blow detail, since the guides have been good enough for the 25,000 people before you who asked the same question, and that same guides will be good enough for the next 25,000 people after you, too. I have loads to say - in your case it was some "direct" advice on how to get people to help you. And, because of the lack of info in your original post, a lot of it wasn't required. However, the quote of mine I gave in response at the top still stands.

often guides or post are already written to cover topics, that is why people post links. If its been explained before often people don't want to have to manually answer every post.

I would suggest reading around on the site some, there is alot of good info here.
