  1. I tried to add a mpeg file but it came up with the following errors:

"The video resolution 512x288 cannot be used for a standard DVD.
For a standard DVD you can only use the following resolutions:

    352x240 352x480 704x480 720x480 pixels (NTSC format only)
    352x288 352x576 704x576 720x576 pixels (PAL format only)"

"The video framerate 23.976 fps cannot be used for a standard DVD.
You can only use the following framerate for a standard DVD:
    29.97 fps (NTSC format only)
    25 fps (PAL format only)"

"The video sequence header is incorrect.
A video sequence header is necessary for every GOP in a standard DVD."

Any ideas how to fix this.

I reiterate that the file i was trying to add is a .mpg file........

    Thanks in advanced.

use the TMPGENC encoder to reencode the file to one of the mentioned resolutions. Choose one thats closest to the original resolution.

TMPGEnc would be my tool of choice to fix this, but you could use any MPEG encoder.

Re-encode using one of those resolutions mentioned.

When you re-encode (because of the first issue), set the frame rate to 23.976fps (internally 29.976fps) but set the encode mode to "3:2 pulldown on playback".

When you re-encode (because of the first two issues), Make sure you set the "output interval of sequence header" to 1, and the "Max number of frames in a GOP" to 18.

So to summarise, I'd use TMPGEnc with the DVD (NTSC) template, then load the unlock template, then change the frame size to a DVD-compliant size as described in 1), then change the fps and encode mode as described in 2), then check the GOP settings - using this template, they should already be set to what I described in 3). You'll also need to set the bitrate to an appropriate value.
    If in doubt, Google it.
