  1. I am capturing for the first time using virtuadub. But when I do a test the outputted results are not so good (very low strobe-like frame rate). Is there any faq or tutorial that outlines the settings needed to be made in virtuadub for best quality avi video capturing?

Also, Sound is not captured alongside with video. I understand from the virtuadub help file that there is a source setting issue for audio. If I can be pointed in the right direction for that also ^_^

I have checked around but I cant find anything.
Any help would be great and appreciated.

  2. Thanks!
Am I asking too much setting capture rate of 720x480? Because I get a unsupported error. I am sure my capture card supports it. Also when I go to select compression I don't have many codecs. Where can I get more codecs? Do I need to possibly reinstall nemo codec pack?

  4. If Virtualdub says the framesize is not supported it may be an issue with the card's VFW support. I have a Prolink X-Capture (CX23881) and Virtualdub won't allow me to capture with anything above a vertical size of 240. I tinkered around with it for a long time and finally gave up.

Instead, I use VirtualVCR and it does a great job at 720x480. The interface is relatively simple and it has a nice dynamic audio resampling feature for audio sync. And the best feature is that it's free, too.

If your card supports it, downoad the BTwincap drivers

    http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/

Video capture driver for Bt848, Bt849, Bt878, Bt879 video capture boards.

This will enable you to capture in the highest resolutions and at the highest speed.

Also capture using mjpeg or huffyuv codecs to decrease frame drops.
