  1. Hello, I am prepared to encode the finished video clips (.AVI) to .mpg to author on a dvd.

I am using TMPGEnc DVD Source Creator to do the encoding. The software is asking me if I want to

Encode all clip into one single MPEG file.
    or
Encode each clip separatedly to MPEG files.

Which one should I choose to make a life little easier and why? Thanks in advance.

    Hi iKwak,

If all the AVIs are going to end up as one continuous bit of footage, then encode to one single MPEG clip.

If each AVI is it's own bit of footage (like different holdiays) and it'll be in it's own track on the DVD, then encode each clip separately.

A track could contain, say, your winter holiday while another track could contain your summer holiday. So each track has it's own "movie" (or whatever) in.

Each track can then have it's own chapters - sections within the "movie".

    Carpe diem.

What Daamon said, but remember that if you do multiple files into one at the encoding stage, it may well be notciable where the joins are. Conversely, if you output to separate files and then use your authoring software to join them, you may experience a slight pause between clips.
    If in doubt, Google it.
