  1. Dear Forum,

I know this question is asked all of the time, but I can't find the simple way to accomplish my task. I'm trying to rip audio (maybe movie quotes or songs) to .mp3 from a DVD. So I...

    1. Rip the DVD with DVDDecrypter. This usually doesn't take to long and I'm satisfied with the .VOB Results.

I like to use Adobe Audition to manipulate the sound file because I can save straight to .mp3 and cut/slice exactly what I need. It also shows the video playing with my sound file. Question, is there a good program to take the .VOB into and .AVI or .MPG in some TIMELY way. Will renaming hte .VOB to .MPG affect the quality at all? When I do this, it takes a LONG time to import the audio from video into Audition. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi kouchimk,

VirtualDubMod accepts VOBs and MPEGs as input files. From there, I believe you'll be able to extract the audio - either direct to MP3 (not sure, as you'll need an encoder like LAME) or to WAV (definitely).

And WAV to MP3 is a breeze...

    Hope that helps...

    Hello,

In the tools shortcut found on the left of the screen <---- you'll find a section of dvd rip tools. Here are 3 dvd audio rip tools:

    https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=1_DVD_Audio_Ripper

    https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=DVD_Audio_Extractor

    https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=ImToo_DVD_Audio_Ripper

Another option is to use dvd decrypter in stream processing mode and rip the ac3 file from the dvd. Then using besweet (with the besweet gui as it is a command line tool) you can convert the ac3 to mp3/wav/mp2 and a host of other options.

If its a concert dvd you can rip in chapter mode in dvd decrypter and then convert each ac3 in batch mode to your desired format.

DVD2AVI will allow you to load up all the VOB files (after you've decrypted them) and save it as one long .WAV file. Then, cut and encode into MP3.
