  1. I am the proud new owner of a DC30 video card, bought on Ebay and plugged into my Quickilver G4. I've managed to get it to basically work in Final Cut Pro with the Xact driver, and really pleased I am to

One problem though - horizontal jagged lines around edges when there's movement. Fumbling about, I've found that the Xact filter 'Reverse Field Dominance' fixes the problem in the playback in Final Cut Pro. Whoopee! Trouble is, I can't get this to save when I try and export the clip to Quicktime. The jagged lines are back in the saved Quicktime file.

So - could be a really newbie question for FCP users - how do you get a filter to do its work on a clip in Final Cut Pro HD, and for the result to be saved on export? I'd also like to deinterlace too really at some point.

    Thanks for any advice!

  3. That seems to be the problem with many RT filters. It has happened to me with the flicker filter having a different real time preview than ouput. What color line is above your footage? Does rendering the video before playback change anything? First I would suggest looking at it through an NTSC monitor (a TV will do) and seeing if the problem persists. Then I would check your field dominance in your capture presets to make sure it matches your footage. Consider doing a recapture of your footage.
