  1. I recently formatted my hardrive and now I am unable burn DVD's properly. I have no problems ripping DVD’s to my computer. When using Nero, it burns the DVD properly, but fails data verification. Furthermore, the DVD's don't play on my computer or standalones. When placing the DVD into the DVD drive, AnyDVD warns me that the DVD is dirty and something about the region. I’ve set the proper regions on the computer. I downloaded SP2, aspi drivers’, firmware and DMA is enabled. What am I forgetting to do? I’ve never had this problem before.

    Thanks

  3. I forgot to mention that I don't have any problems playing DVD's before the format. When I make a new one on the computer, thats where I encounter problems.

    Thanks

    That sounds like bad discs.

  5. I don't think its bad disks because they are the same disks I ve been using for over 2 years. On top of that, before the format I was using the same batch as I am using now. I remeber having this problem before, and I think all I had to do was install the aspi drivers, but It doesn't seem to work now.

The same discsc do not matter.

It has to do with the dye on the discs.

If it fails verification, that is a sign of bad discs.

  8. Have any of the physical connections for any of the drives changed?

Make sure DMA mode is enabled.

    Whatever.

You can lead a horse to water.....

You may need a firmware update to handle the crappy discs.

  15. I updated the formatted computer from windows update website including SP2. Might the problem be that I installed SP@ before updating the firmware, aspi and so on?
