  1. Hi, I am looking for some MPEG tools that can cut bad frames from MPEG files..

I have some MPEG I want to burn on DVD.. I would first use TMPGEnc to reencode to MPEG2 format.. but if there is a bad frame.. TMEGEnc will not work.. tried to use TMPGEnc Cut/Merge Tools to "take" bad frames away.. but not work... it won't move any further once it sees a bad frames...

someone here suggests me to try VideoRedo.. I tried the current version, it said a "Non-Linear Mpeg tools".. it works great.. only problem is that.. it is expensive .. $50 US..

any other tools that can do the same thing? is that true that I have to look for "Non-Linear Mpeg tools" only? I tried older VideoReDo, which is not Non-Linear version, it doesn't work...

    thanks

    Try any of these here:

I've never had to use any of them as I've never come across any bad frames in all my encoding. (Gee, I never realized that before.)

Also be sure it's a bad video frame and not a bad audio frame. If it's audio it will still refuse to open with tmpgenc mpg cutter/joiner.

i think is video.. cos you can see the green spot on the screen before TMPGEnc stops going further.

mpeg-vcr is great for editing/cutting mpeg files. It has a fully functional trial so you can see if you like it.

cutting frames out of mpeg will require some re-encoding ..

you cant just take out a B or P frame or I frame and think everything going to be alright .

timestamps will be messed up also --

    best to re-encode it all
