  1. Hey! All of sudden some of the pages of this forum are too large to read without scrolling horizontally. If this is my problem, how do I fix it?

Did you change something? I didn't change any settings (if there are any). I've never had this problem before.
If it works, don't fix it.

This is caused when people who use a higher resolution than 800x600 create a thread.

It is nothing that is out of the ordinary.

Setting the percentage to 100% does not change a thing.

I think it's probably just where an image has been inserted that cannot fit without scrolling for your resolution. Happens all the time in OT
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Nope

Sorry but if you look at the page resolutions, 800x600 is the default.

If anyone who uses a higher resloution that either creates a post or a new thread, then you have to scroll.

I have to do it all the time.

    EXACTLY.

It's because of the content in the posts, not the resolution of the OP. I've set up four image tests in the test forum, called Scroll Test 1 through to 4. Try them - you'll see what I mean. The forum autowraps if possible - my post in the poster above you thread had no spaces so everyone's browsers have no option but to put a scroll bar on because they can't word wrap.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Just to get back to the OP (this isn't OT, after all ), the only way you can do anything about this is to up your screen resolution because it's the content of one or more posts in the threads in question that causes it, as stiltman has assisted in proving in this thread, and as I have proven in the Test Forum
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Isn't that what I said?

It is the posters resolution setting.

NO. It's the reader's resolution setting, not the creator's, or any other contributors to the thread. If you're on 800 X 600 and I'm on 1024 X 768, then you and I can browse (just browse, no posting contributions whatsoever) the exact same thread, yet you can get scrollbars and I won't, irregardless of what the OP's settings are. It all depends on the content within the thread, which can be posted by anyone in the thread, not just the creator

    FWIW I've only got a 15" LCD yet 1024 X 768 is fine IMO.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Okeee Dokeee

I only have a 17 inch monitor, so I guess I will have to live with the scrolling.

If I increase the resolution, the text gets harder to read.

Hey Stilt! Should I post of a copy of the PM you sent me calling me foul names because a couple of my screenshots made you have to scroll? :P
