Areet, chuck. Let me off-topic for a mo... I haven't been around VideoHelp.com (or its predecessor URLs forever) so forgive me if this has already been covered: Did you choose your name after Malcolm X? As in 'Copy that DVD by any means necessary'?

post counts and who was here first doesn't give anyone here the right to anything extra nor does it possess special flaming powers.

Funnily enough, I had to chuckle to myself today when checking the post count of a certain person who responds with virtually one post for every single sentence. I would mention the name but I don't want to inflame the mod I'm talking about.

I've nothing better to do this time of the morning I suppose. I guess I'm just a sad loner at the moment but not self abusive

@Fandim, there are newer DVD's out now that have purposely inserted errors that will stop programs like DVDShrink ripping them. AnyDVD and DVDDecrypter soon bypassed this anyway and I'm sure they will also bypass aything else that comes about

@Josef K, you are right about Recode and it's annoying 'you need this that and the other' windows trying to get more money out of you!. I will also go as far as saying I agree with most of what you said in the post I missed before

I guess that's why I don't even bother doing backups apart from the odd one here and then if I know it's gonna get used 'n' abused

p.s. I was gonna PM a response about my name but I may as well say it has nothing to do with MalcolmX here as I'm pretty sure others will want to know as it's not the first time I've been asked. I was just sick of being MisterX and changed it to MackemX as I knew Mackem (a name for a person in the region where I live, for those who don't know) would probably be taken at some forums

I heartily recommend the solution I currently use: Don't have children, train the girlfriend how to treat DVDs. Works.
