Hello,
Why????
What are you trying to do???
Kevin
PS - what is your setup and what is your target destination?? DVD or xvid/divx???? Some more info pleaseDonatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Generally I want to convert .avi to DVD with my two computers but any other operation like only .avi to MPG conversion without Authoring will be interesting.

Other than that your question is still vague. There are plenty of guides in the "how to" section on the left of the screen <-------

Problem is, encoding and authoring are 2 different/distinct operations. What do you want to do. Providing an example might be the best way for us to understand what you clearly.

I get the feeling this is another 'Can I make a rendering farm out of all my computers so I can encode in a couple of minutes?' sort of question.
If so, then the answer is no, at least to my knowledge. The only software capable of this in the graphics world are CG packages. -
I want to do one operation on 2 computers in one time (not batch encoding). I know that encoding and authoring are 2 different operations but I don't know what can be done in that way only encoding or whole encoding and authoring operation.
Example:
I have 1.avi and I run program A on computer X and on computer Y I set up settings and run - programs on compures X & Y are sharing operations (they comunicate each other). X can do one thing and Y another - in this way encoding (or whole jov avi-> DVD) should be done quicker - but this is only idea and I search for program A -

not for mpeg encoding --
but there are many video programs that will render video on more than one (render farm approach)
like :

because of the B frames in mpeg files - it is harder to do renderfarm wise - though with closed GOPS , it is possable ....

i forgot After Effects .. it also works encoding on a renderfarm ..
some use macs to work with after effects and render on pc's on a render farm .."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
We appear to be hitting submit at exactly the same time.
If it was really a viable thing to build a render farm (probably not correct terminology but what the hell...) then we'd all be doing it and we'd all know about it to answer the question. That's what I was basing my answer on. -
Thanks for help.
BTW. I heared from another source that Adobe Video Collection Professional 2.5 can do it. -
only 'after effects' .. from adobe (part of the package)
"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
and that is not to mpeg2
"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
plus the cost can get expensive (the lic's + the hardware)
