    Hi all
I am planning to overclock my video card (ti4600) and I need something to cool it with. THe only problem is that I might not have enough space between my v.c. and the cpu fan.

THere is about 1 inch between vga and cpu fan. Maybe a little more. I was thinking something like Thermaltake Giant III, but I guess there is no space. What can I do, and maybe somebody got it and it fitS? What other options do i have.

My other question is about the case fans. I have 3 case fans. Two on the back blowing out and one where the hds are blowing in. In that a good set up. The hd fan is kinda hidden behind the hd.

  2. You might be able to use one of the PCI slot fans like this one:

GPU cooler goes on the other side of your video card mate. Most just occupy the PCI slot adjacent the video card.

I saw that today in Compusa but it doesn't seem to me like it will cool too much. Are you using that?

Yeah most of it but there is still a metal piece on the other side, and I just worry if it will fit.

    I found this http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-186-117&depa=0
Seems to be getting great reviews.

  6. I would try overclocking it first if I were you. I had a Ti4600 that would not overclock more than 2% on GPU and 3% on memory. Maybe extra cooling would help this, but then again it may waste your time and money.

Give it a shot, take care with it and see if it is worth the money.

I loved my Ti4600 - it is still a beast of a card considering how long it has been around.

first of all, your cooling setup looks fine..it's good to have more exhaust than intake...just not the other way around :P. The idea first and foremost is to get the hot out! The cool in will be a natural result. Although the little slot fan may not look very robust, you will be surprised to see just how cool it will keep your video card by consistently drawing that heat away from it and exhausting it outside of the case. IF you wanna get real crazy you can make some little heatsinks and attach them to the memory with thermal paste. :P. I personally take the fans out of bad power supplies and use them on pc's that aren't adequately cooled. I have one right now attached to my 2 sata drives..it doesn't move alot of air but it keeps the drives cool to the touch where they used to be HOT HOT HOT! You have to be careful when doing this though that you make sure the fan doesn't go against the flow of air going in and out of your case. You want to try and direct the hot air towards an exhaust also. The easiest and most direct way for that video card would be right out of the slot next to it..thats why i think the slot cooler would be your best bet...

I say all that to say this..a little fan can do alot as long as it's constantly drawing that hot air away.

i'm not quite sure..but after reading my post if it is blowing i'm sure he'll go ahead and turn it around. If he has the room to do so. He might have to take it outside and bring it back in the other way.

Not sure if you're old enough to remember this one, but as Chevy Chase was overheard saying on the phone when the cameras caught him before he thought he was on the air for SNL's Weekend Update, "No, no, honey, they just call it blowing."

I got the arctic cooling vga cooler. I don't know if it cools much since it's still pretty hot but now I don't worry as much when I overclock. I overclocked the core from 660 to 695 and the other one (forgot what it's called, ram i think) from 300 to 320. At one point I overclocked too much and it kept on freezing Counter Strike SOurce, I then had to bring it down. I will go even higher on core but I think I am at the max on ram. Overclocking to where I am now certainly helped me when playing cs source. I now play on high and get pretty good frames. Is it sufficient to overclock core by a lot and not the ram? And is it any good at where I am now?
