I needed to cut a clip I got recently but none of my tools seem to work so I thought I'd encode to Divx or Mpeg and cut it then. Any free tools to do this? Thanks.

No need to encode to DivX. DivX = MPEG4, so all you have to do is extract the video, then change the fourCC from mp4v to DIVX/DX50.
