  1. Hi All,

I use TMPGEnc, TMPGEnc DVD Author and Ulead VideoStudio 7 SE DVD for capturing DV and converting to DVD. I have had great success with this until a couple of months ago.

For some reason now after I have burned a DVD of my home movies, I get jittery horizontal lines when the movies pans sideways. When you are focused on one spot it it fine but as soon as the camera moves, certain objects get the jittery lines. I have look and tried pretty much everything without luck so thought I would post.

I cannot pinpoint anything that I did or changed except maybe when I installed a TV capture card.

I am desperate to get it resolved as my wifes insessant nagging to fix it is driving me nuts.

    Regards
    David

Sounds like your interlace is reversed. You probably did it in TMPGENC or the Ulead software.

I think what LordSmurf is saying is that it sounds like a field order problem in that you picked the wrong order (first instead of bottom or vice versa) somewhere along the line.

DV AVI is always bottom field first but I seem to recall reading that Ulead calls uses the term top field to refer to what just about everyone else calls bottom field. At least I seem to recall reading that ... I haven't used Ulead software with DV captures. I did play around for a bit with Movie Factory 2 when it was new but gave up on it once TMPGEnc DVD Author came out.

I don't capture DV AVI either so all I am saying is my memory on that might be cloudy but I could have sworn reading that (i.e., the odd way that Ulead software refers to bottom field video).

    Ulead is backwards, yes.
But TMPG doesn't always read files right either.

    ALWAYS VERIFY your settings.
