Ok, following my last question, i followed the advice given and used DivX to DVD to change my video files to vob. Because i have dozens of clips around 10 to 15minutes each I want to put several different ones into shrink to make a dvd.
    How do i achieve this?
I can only get shrink to do 1 file at a time, which is kind of useless. If i am missing something please let me know. Can i shrink them individually and save them to my hard drive?
Also, how do i put several files together to make 1 disc?

Reauthor mode dude. Open the first set of VOB files, drag what you want to the left hand window. Now using the disc browser in the right hand window, browse to the next VIDEO_TS folder. You should then be able to drag the clips you want over to the left under the first clips. Repeat for as many clips as you need.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Thanks!
I cant believe I didnt work that one out myself. I thought re author mode was just for taking certain sections of a dvd.
    ITs all to easy now!!!!!!!!!!
    Cheers

Ok, i just played the burnt dvd back, and only 1 video is on it ( i put approx 10 on it in total).

It could be the dvd itself as i have had problems before like this when burning captured dv. I have had to buy certain brands that are + R, wheres the ones i normally use to burn dvds are -R in bulk.

It could be the disc, but can you guys think of anything else it could be?

Tried the Next Title (or equivalent) button on your remote ?

It might be an idea to use something like TMPGEnc DVD AUthor, GUI for dvdauthor or dvdauthorgui so you can create a menu.
    If in doubt, Google it.

The thing is i can only test it on my computer through power dvd as -R dvds wont play on my set top dvd player.
I buy -r because i can get them in bulk very cheap.
So when i test these discs ive burnt it plays the 1st video then ends, if i press skip it stops.
Do you think its the discs?

I don't know if cheap disks would cause that problem or not. I just tried loading 4 sets of files in reauthor mode and it worked fine. Each set of files goes on a different track, but when I play them on Power DVD it played all 4 tracks.

I do wonder why you buy -R disks if they don't work in you set top player? It's a little like buying the wrong size tires for your car because they're cheaper, even if you can't actually put them on the car and drive it.

    I thought the same thing

Although, if you're only interested in PC playback, then it's not really important I guess.

I buy -R dvds that dont work on my set box for 2 reasons.
    1. They are a LOT cheaper....it worx out at about 40cents Australian per disc.
    2. They are a brand that when burning dvd to dvd I never have problems. Its one brand that works really well with my Lite On rw burner.
I will be getting a new set top dvd player/burner so im not worried that i cant play them on my current machine.
