  1. Anyone know of some good free linux games or other apps? I've been looking around at freshmeat alot but some suggestions would be helpful. Do you have any links too?

    Tux racer?

    Also the LInux version of Doom 3 can be gotten for like just a few bucks at the right places.

  4. Never mind... I found abuse and tuxracer, freshmeat is great. Hopefully I can get them running.. I don't need any other software other than sdl (which I have), do I?

    Sorry not much of a linux person. I just know both those games are cool. Abuse is alittle dated but great fun. Tux... well you can't go wrong with Penguin racing.

    I dl and installed the abuse sdl one from freshmeat... it requires the purchased abuse or shareware. But then I saw that it could also use the new rewritten abuse (open source), which has alot more levels. and can be found here:

    Yeah the company who released abuse (crackdotcom) went under. Its been on the web as Open source forever and a day.

    I downloaded the linux version from that link I posted earlier, but when I extracted it to a folder there doesn't appear to be any way to install it... no configure, makefile, doinst.sh, or anything that apparantly is the way to install. How do I install it?

    Like I said I only every played it under OSX or Windows. Somebody more Linuxy will have to answer that one.
