Hi, I transfered some film to a camcorder and then onto the computer. Sence I have to up the framerate on the projector to get ride of the light flicker, I tried virtualdub and to lower the famerate from 29.***fps to 22 fps. It looks great on the computer but when I burn it to dvd it's jumpy. Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong?
Thanks

Pretty simple, 22 fps is not an acceptable DVD framerate. When you "burn it to DVD" a framerate conversion is taking place which makes it jumpy.

thanks for the links...was going through them and got some good info on other stuff i was concerned about. I can't find any info on my question through...basicly as said earlier, I have a mpeg file that runs to fast (movie transfer) and want to slow it down but getting bad results.....

The links are just my signature.
You can change the fps down and show it on a computer at that rate, no problem. The problem comes when you want to transfer it to DVD. DVD has only 2 framerates: 25 fps for PAL, 29.97 for NTSC. If you convert your fps down then convert back up to DVD you will have a noticable jerkiness in the video. Not much you can do about it.
As for the flickering, well perhaps someone else may suggest a better solution than changing the framerate."Art is making something out of nothing and selling it." - Frank Zappa -
thanks...and duh on the links LOL
Guess I just made myself 5 costers. Never knew that about changing the fps. Thanks again -
There's a deflicker filter for Vdub that you might find useful, look here.
