I'm for Maryanne too, Ginger looks too fake/plastic to me. I read somewhere that Maryanne got some huge multiple X amount of fan mail compared to Ginger (maybe like 20X more mail). You could probably find that number somewhere, but all I heard for sure is that she received a lot more mail.

Although, that particular thing may not count for much, as Arnold the Pig got a lot more mail on Green Acres than anyone else. What does that tell us about the American public? :P

I also saw some of those PB pics of Tina Louise, have an old copy somewhere with those. Nice bod, but apparently people that worked with her on G.I. didn't like her very much. Maryanne always had a good attitude, and that's #1 with me, and the reason why I'd take her over Ginger any day.

When the show was new circa 1965 or so, I was about 8 years old, so I doubt I cared what they looked like - at that age, girls have cooties!

Difficult question to answer, therefore. And I think a large group of guys on this board are considerably younger than me, most weren't even alive when Gilligan's Island was new.

Tina Louise / Ginger didn't come off being either way to me - she wasn't a slutty type (in a porn star or Pamela Anderson way). Playboy in those days was a lot more tame and classy by today's standards...and I think much more fake looking woman around nowadays.

I didn't see her as phony person - thought she played the part in a Marilyn Monroe style, adding sex appeal with a touch of comedy.


Dawn Wells was likeable....but maybe a bit too apple pie for my tastes.
She came off being a cross between Doris Day and Marlo Thomas.


Though it may sound shallow or superficial....I don't really just go for looks. Personaility counts.
I sense that Ginger was a lot more real than most would notice.
Yea, she has a larger than life quality but not too far out IMO.

OK, pay attention....Nice and submissive usually equates to whinny, needy and clingy. Those are 3 qualities that will get you dumped faster than anything else. One of the most attractive features of any woman (other than physical appearance) is her self esteem and her attitude. If she's all fucked up and doesn't have any self esteem...you (her boyfriend) has to spend 85% of his time reassuring her and all that bullshit. I personally like a woman who has some confidense, likes herself and the way she looks (no matter how others see her...over weight - skinny - pretty - ugly) whatever, she has to like herself...there isn't a man alive who wants to sit around all ******* day telling her "oh you're not fat" "I think you're beautiful"....blah blah blah. Give me a ******* break. I'm not the girls psychologist. Her attitude also plays a key role. She has to have a good attitude not a "better than everyone else attitude" (I'll detail that kind of female at a later date). Basically, the chic just has to be ******* normal. You seem to be pretty normal, you live in reality...you should know all of this shit by now...since you are about 31-32 years old

With all that being said...I take Maryann everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. Ginger...she's high dollar, seems whinny, she's needy...she's one of those "owwwe my leg doesn't go that far"...while Maryann seems more like the "is that all you got? Well you better hang the **** on I'm about to go to work!"
