  1. how would i go about ripping audio data from a dvd-rom (such as a playstation 2 game for example) into an mp3 file.

    i know it can be done because people have done it but they arent telling anyone how its done (losers). is there any programs or guides lying about?

    If they are in VOB format, you can drop them into Virtualdubmod, then save the audio stream as a .WAV, or demux it.

    For video DVd there are easytouse rippers like imToo DVD Audio Ripper, but if you're talking about "digital audio stored on a DVD" in general, what to do depends on the type of audio.
    If you're talking about PS2 games music rips specifically, look here!

    After you install the game, look in the installation directory. There will be a folder called SOUNDS or something like that. All the game sounds are mp3 files, plus there are 2 videos that are the credits and the Rockstar logos.
