  1. i have a 76+ episode series that i wanted to transfer to dvd, but using dvd movie factory i can only fit about 3 eps per dvd. i have seen the same series span across only 5. what would i need to convert the files to, to fit the most possible on each dvd? they are only about 200 mb each but end up at almost 2gb each when finished converting them.

  2. convert to non-standard CVD (352x480/576 with 48 mhz audio). Should be able to fit more onto a DVDr.

divx is a highly compressed video format, so converting to something else (MPEG) will only increase the file size. Something to look at is the audio, make sure that it is converting to mp2 and not pcm (uncompressed audio)

  3. thanks for the quick responce.

any tips on conversion software to use with this?

  4. www.dvd2svcd.com, but use TMPGENC or CCE for the conversion.

www.thefilmmachine.com has a converter from avi to DVD but I cant remember if it will do half D-1 (which is how some folks reference CVD (with 48 mhz audio).

    Two things I would do:

    1. Stop threadjacking Fallacy's thread and create your own if you're having issues

    2. Do a search - 1,000's of posts cover the solution to this
    If in doubt, Google it.

What, in a thread that has NOTHING to do with your problem ? That's called THREADJACKING. This thread is for Fallacy's issues. If you have the same issues, all well and good, but if they're totally different, they not welcome in this thread

Back on topic, I'd recommend TMPGEnc and this guide. Make sure when doing the bitrate calculator thing you set the runtime to the length of the number of episodes you want on one disc - so if you want 4 X 30 minute eps, set it to 120 minutes.
    If in doubt, Google it.

How can I say this clearly ....

THIS PERSON DOESN'T HAVE AN OVERSCAN PROBLEM - YOU DO.

    Get it ?

This person just wants to fit multiple episodes on the one DVD, no mention ANYWHERE of an overscan issue, so quit jacking his thread already !
    If in doubt, Google it.

I can't stop you, but I can remind you of the rules here. Would you like it if someone jacked the thread YOU posted for help on YOUR problem ? No, I didn't think so.

    Please take your dose

    Thankyou.

All I want to say is:
Please be a bit more considerate of others.

If you have an issue, start your own thread or post in a thread with the same issues instead of taking over someone else's unrelated thread, that's all.
    If in doubt, Google it.

If you need help with something, start a new topic. Don't threadjack someone else's.
