    I have searched but cant find the answer.

    I have checked the properties on the file and it says 6 channels not 2 or 5.

    I have the ac3 codec but still wont load the audio.

    any suggestions please.

    Oh yes, I have also tried to remove the audio in vitualdub but it says no audio decompressor could be found but i have lame installed.

    TmpgEnc cannot handle ac3 directly. You will have to install the AC3 ACM Decompressor and then either frameserve with Vdub or avisynth. The extraction of a wav file from Vdub will also work if you have the decompressor. Lame has nothing to do with it.
