  1. Is it possible to create a VCD (or SVCD, etc) with a DVD menu structure? I would like to be able to make a menu without the limitations of the VCD menu structure.

I believe I've heard of miniDVD, though I can't seem to be able to find any information on how to create one...

    any help, greatly appreciated. thanks...

    No.
VCD Easy is as good as it gets.

cDVD rarely works on players. Less than 1% at best.

  3. There is a program called TSCV which will allow for very complex meny structures on SVCD. Motion menus, motion backround, intro movie, etc. It's a bit buggy and no longer updated, but was the most capable SVCD menu maker I found.

Well, if this is true, then I must be very fortunate. I found a website with a mini-DVD/CDVD sample. Of the three dvd players I own, two of them can play a CDVD.
Classic (too lazy to look for model #) plays the disc no problem as if it were a dvd.
CyberHome CH-DVD 300 - sees the disc as CD-ROM and says no compatible files found.
CyberHome CH-LDV 700B (portable, the one i use most) - sees the disc as DVD and plays perfectly.

uhh I guess i'll just start a new thread in dvd authoring.

    mods/admins please close this thread...
