Hey everyone. I just had a question on a HDTV. It is a Hitachi 60V715. The problem is.....when hooked up to a satellite the picture looks fuzzy. It doesn't look as bright as it should be or nearly as clear. This is my first time dealing with a HDTV and picture quality so any help would be appreciated. I am not sure how the guy hooked it up.....coax vs. component vs. s-video.....so bare with me. Which one would give the best picture and what not.
I just don't know if i have a setting right or what the deal is. I don't expect anyone to diagnose it over the internet of course.......maybe just give me some suggestions on why it might be doing this and what settings to look for.
Also, I am a total beginner on the TV subject so don't yell at me too bad. Oh and I am not sure if this is the right forum or not but if it isn't then I am an idiot.......probably an idiot anyways, but ya can't win em all.
Sorry it is so vague.....just looking for ideas.
Thanks
Hatz

Did you go through the setup process in the manual for tuning/tweaking?
BTW, found this

I remember when i was search on LCD and Plasma stuff that they make setup DVDs to fine tune everything -
Thanks stiltman.....I appreciate your help.
Looks like the connected the Direct TV to the TV with coax.....I'm probably going to get one of those disks and then switch to S-Video or Composite.
Thanks again.

Edit: Just looked at specs on your TV
Your HDTV is native 720p which is very good.
If the DirecTV supports it, you can also use the HDMI connection from the tuner to the HDTV. For this cable, you may need to go to a Home Theater store. It may give slightly better results but it also introduces encryption issues. If the DirecTV HDTV tuner has a 720p setting, see if it works better than 1080i. Since DirecTV distributes 1080i, you are selecting whether the tuner or HDTV makes the better 1080i to 720p conversion.
I'd demand that DirecTV pays for the cables. They should have been provided and installed.
BTW, you did say you subscribed to the HDTV service right?
