  1. does anyone own or know if there are any MPEG-4 (Divx) players around?? or any DVD players that support it??

    I'd like to buy one because i do alot of DVD ripping

    I've seen things about some PDAs supporting MPEG-4, but as far as DVD players go, not at present.

    I think the reason for that is two-fold. I don't think that Divx is over the impression that it's a hacked version of Windows Media, and second, I don't think it's considered a true, official implementation of MPEG-4, regardless of what Divx themselves say.

    I think it should be, though, if PDAs are supporting it. I personally would love to see a DVD player with that feature; my 600MHz Celeron can barely hack it during playback with NO postprocessing.

  3. hmm... Then there is something wrong with your system

    I have the Celeron A system (has catch) at 466Mhz that plays and encodes in DivX just fine... U prolly need 2 update your graphics card drivers.

    Your system is not only faster but I believe your celeron is based on the newer P3 core with sse, mine is based on the P2 core.... I could b wrong though.
