Everybody I sent e-mail to using my g-mail account had to go dig it out of their trash folder because most ISPs filter it as junk mail so I just said to ******* hell with g-mail and gave it up.
It seemed cool at first though. Before I discovered how sucky it was, that is. Then it was just, well, sucky.

Invites flow like water at this point. Pretty much anyone who wants in and isn't totally internet anti social can get it. Heck I got in a goodly while back and I know very few people online (other then here of course)

Getting a Gmail account is an invitation for heaps of spam. This is true and too much of it.
It the worse since I first got a Hotmail account years ago.
Currently, I am unable login into two of my Gmail accounts and now as useless.
I have contacted Gmail of this problem as I can't even send any messages to the Gmail addresses either.

I get MAYBE 1 spam a day in my gmail account and it goes straight to the spam folder. I am sorry you have had problems, but your account is not reflective of the whole. -

Looks as though I will need to delete the offending Gmail addresses by NYE.
Gmail doesn't have a really good spam filter as far as email forwarding your messages goes into where you want to go into.
It collects the spams with it. Yes, it does email forward and deliver all messages including the spams to your other address.
This makes no difference as in the spam folder and I can still receive the junk at the email forwarding address.
This is like an infection from another email address.
My Yahoo email address does detect as spam from Gmail too.
It goes straight into the Bulk folder as junk.
This is why I am using Hotmail to block the spams and for Gmail to trash automatically after receiving and before getting to me.
Gmail is as problems to me.
The best advice is to use an unknown or hard to guess alias when creating a new Gmail address.
Otherwise the spams can track your email address by harvesting or scanning on the Internet.
For an alias in the address, best not to use a word in the dictionary, a common name and best to include a number or two into @gmail.com or whatever.
I have found using ‘John’ as a magnet for spams and this one as an example of getting problems.
Even having dot into the address doesn't stop the spams from getting to me. This makes no difference.
Anyway, the one good about Gmail is free to have at no cost.
I just created another one to replace the problem Gmail addresses.
