I've recently authored a DVD-R using Magix Movie Edit Pro 2004 and have found that the end result DVD disc plays great on my new Sony DVD player.
However, after trying the disc on various other friends players I've found that on newer players there is no problem but on older machines (around 2-3 years old) the dialogue is out of sync and other dialogue/soundtrack disappears altogether. Visually everything is fine on the older players however.
I was thinking it was a hardware problem but could it be more to do with the type of disc I'm using? I'm using a brand called Datawrite. Should I be using a more well known brand? TDK, Phillips etc? Any help appreciated!

Some players are finicky about media brand and - +. You might also try changing the booktype if your burner supports it. And you can look at the player list to see if anyone has reported an incompatability.
