when using dvd shrink, the only way to improve video quality is to remove some extras, languages etc? or is smth else? because video after encoding is in "windows" (pure quality)...

¿Que? What do you mean? But yes, by removing stuff, you make more room for main title, and thus have to compress it less, thus getting less degradation in quality, but never improve quality...
Also, enabling the AEC mode might give you less degradation.

it's not usual dvd (main movie+extras like others). it's about basketball and there are many short movies about events (approx 5 minutes length). "main movie" is about 1,6gb, "extras" - about 2,7gb.
what's the "DL media"? some encoder? or what? -
Hello,
DL media is "dual layer" discs (or double layer as Sony calls it). They are the 8.5gb discs that will do a direct 1:1 copy including everything on a commercial disc without shrinking. (maybe its 7.9 really??? Like 4.7gb is really 4.37gb???).
Just use dvddecrypter in iso read/iso write mode for dual layer burners.
Downside - blanks are EXPENSIVE
Just use deep analysis in dvd shrink and you'll probably not notice much if any quality loss - or split them to two discs

1.6 + 2.7=4.3 GB - this disck ought to be possible to backup 1:1, without compression at all, using DVDDecrypter ISO Read, ISO Write...

Even with DVDShrink, if it's less than a normal SL disc size, by default, it'll say "encoding video" when you hit backup, but all it's really doing is ripping the disc, not encoding at all.
I still recomend using DVDDecrypter over Shrink though for a 1:1...(even if it is a DL disc...I still prefer using decrypter on the disc to make an image to load into shrink, heh.)

after ripping with dvd decrypter, filesize is 7,71 gb.
did deep analyse, but result is almost the same...
so the last thing left is split into 2 discs? -
When you say filesize, do you mean folder or is just the actual movie that big? Usually you can delete extra and un-needed languages to reduce the size before shrinking. You really need to look at the guide about shrink.

i know about moving unwanted things...
everything would be ok, if it would be usual dvd (movie+extras). but it isn't so... -
HOw do you split it into 2 disks with dvd shrink I re auther them and cut out the stuff I don't need but how do you split the main title to make it into 2. I to use dvd Decrypter to rip it on to my hard drive and then use shrink to shrink and burn it but I want to learn how to split it on to 2 disks.
