  1. Let me take you through my step-by-step process

I used TMPGEnc to encode a DivX AVI video to VCD(NTSCFilm).
I watched parts of the video on my computer, I didn't notice anything wrong with it (such as skips, audio problems, etc.) So I used MPEG Tools... in TMPGEnc to cut it into 2 MPG files (about 40 min eac) to burn it too 2 vcds. I used Nero to burn the VCDs. OK, I popped into my GE 5803P and watched it. In about the first 4 minutes, the video Slowed Down and then sped up--causing the audio to go out of sync. I have no idea why it's doing this--I don't know if it's tmpgenc, my dvd player, my cd burner or whatever. I've downloaded already encoded VCDs and they've worked fine. I don't know why mine aren't. If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it. This isn't always a prob with DivX either--I have problems with EVERYTHING--SmR, ASF, any type of file I try to make into a VCD.

    Thanks

  2. When you cut your MPEG, did you change the setting to "MPEG-1 Video-CD" rather than leave it on the default "Auto"?

  3. Yeah I changed it too that stream

The VCDs play fine on my other dvd player, so I guess my GE is a peice of crap.

    Heh

Figures. I bought it because it could play CD-R/W but of course, it does, just not correctly. My other DVD player uses CD-RW but it plays them without a problem.
