  1. I have a ton of Video CD's files from capturing tv shows (.mpg files). The problem is I had the line in level too low when capturing so I have to turn my tv volume up a lot to watch the shows.

Is there a simple program where I can raise the level of these files, preferable in a batch format, since I have so many?

Something that works like MP3Gain for mp3 files would be great!

  2. Unfortunatly no,you could demux the audio and run it through TMPGEnc increasing or normalizing the volume, then multiplex the video and audio.
Why not convert the VCD's to DVD?By using a program such as Ulead VideoStudio you could increase the volume and put 4-5 movies on one disc(more if you use DL).

Ok, I think I've figured out a way. You'll need to download 3 command line apps, plus a little batch file I created to automate the process.

BTW- This is ONLY for MPEG1. If anyone wants the same for MPEG2, just let me know. It's a minor modification.

    DvdAuthor http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=59028

BeSplit Beta http://dspguru.notrace.dk/BeSplitv0.9b6.zip (it MUST be this version)

    MPGTX http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mpgtx/mpgtx.zip?download

Unzip all the programs into the same folder

    download this batch file run.bat

Copy run.bat into the same folder as the other files

Copy your MPEG file into the same folder as the other files.

    the syntax is - run.bat whatever-your-file-name is.mpg

this will leave the folder with your original mpeg file and a new mpeg, called NEW_youroldmpegfilename.mpg
