i've got a couple clips in mpeg-2 on my hard drive i'm trying to author with dvd lab. tha clips were recorded from mini dv onto my philips standalone and ripeed to hd with dvd decrypter with no errors and then saved in mpeg with womble mpeg-vcr. the problem i'm having is that when i import the videos in dvd lab i have to demultiplex them. when this happens the audio is now about 2 seconds longer than the video and when i finish authoring the audio and video are way out of synch. each video clip is about 20-25 minutes long and they both play fine with no sync problems before authoring. is this something that happens with vertain clips in dvd lab?

Can't you set dvd-lab to not demux ?
Also, can't you alter the length of the audio track using the timeline ?
Maybe demux the files before using dvd-lab, "adjust" the audio length by converting to WAV, load into goldwave, use the timewarp feature, save back out to WAV, convert back to AC3 or whatever, then load this into dvd-lab ?If in doubt, Google it. -
You do not have to demux, although it is recommended.
The audio has not changed. The way DVD Lab (and Pro) present the lengths is different for video and audio. For audio it is the true length. For video is is the last I frame. As the last I frame is rarely the last frame, the video invariably shows up as slightly shorter than the video. If the difference is very small, as yours is, there is no issue.Read my blog here.

DVD Lab did that to me once. An ATI AIW MPEG2 capture, edited in Womble looked fine prior to authoring. Once authored through DVD Lab it was out of sync. I reauthored with the slower alternate compiler in DVD Lab and it resolved the issue. I haven't been able (thankfully) to reproduce the problem though so I'm not sure if this solution works all the time or if it was just a fluke.
No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space. -

Are you using a current version of womble mpeg-vcr? I was just reading how older versions casued sync problems with files from DVD Recorders.
