so i have a 3.33 clip of a music video, a m1v file and an mp2 file, when played seperately they both say they last 3.33 - but when i mux them in tmpgenc plus's mpeg tools the final result when played in windows media player is 3.13

why on earth? it plays to 3.13 then the position bar stops moving yet the video carries on. it's working ok but if really annoys me that it doesn't keep the correct time.

    any thoughts on this?

Sounds like there's something fooked up with the headers of one of the files that's getting carried through when you're muxing. Maybe try some of the mpeg repair tools under the video restore/fix banner in the tools section ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

Go to Tools <<<<<<<< to your left, then click to the Video Restore/fix link .....

    ... or just click here.

    If in doubt, Google it.

How about re-encoding the M1V with TMPGEnc plus, then muxing with the audio ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

    I'm pretty confident

The question must be asked then - what was your source ? Why did you convert to M1V amd MP2 ? What is your desired outcome with the file ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

my source is avi taken from my minidv - i want a vcd file to play in my standalone.

i converted to mpg but got the kanckered time when playing the file (as mentioned above) so i demuxed it to see if it would make a difference. every time i remux i get the knackered time again.

Is it too much to try the encode to MPEG from the source AVI again ?
    If in doubt, Google it.
