  1. Hi Everyone. Using a guide I found on here I made a DVD using Nero burning Rom from a Video_TS folder. It said it burned sucessfully but when I tried to play it in one of my DVD players I had picture but no sound. Then I tried playing it on my computer and received the same result, picture but no sound. I thought I must have done something wrong in Nero until I tried a third DVD player. This time it worked perfectly. Now I am all confused. I'm am hoping someone could help explain what is going on. And I used a Fujifilm +R made in Japan disc.

Here are the DVD players that had picture but no sound:
    1. Philips DVP642
    2. Computer DVD drive
    3. Xbox(This is wierd because I was under the impression that my Xbox wouldn't read burned things)
    4. Alpine DVD in-dash car stereo

The DVD players that worked perfectly:
    1. Sony DVP-S530D
    2. JVC HR-XVC33U

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

But first a simple yes/no q: You did choose Video DVD in Nero, right (as oposed to data DVD)?

  3. I D/L the VIDEO_TS folder. Then I used this guide: http://www.dvd-guides.com/guides.php?category=dvdburn&name=nero to make it into a DVD. I didn't use Nero DVD-video, I used the burning ROM.

Umm... if I understand correctly the DVD didn't work (video only, no audio) in the first 2 DVD players, but the same DVD worked (played video & audio) in the 3rd, correct jsalvador24?

It sounds like a compatiblity issue to me. Since it worked in the 3rd, I would say to try a different brand of DVD, maybe even a DVD-R media type.

The X-Box will play burned media. There are 3 different types of drives for the X-Box and different media seems to work better in each type of drive. You wouldn't, however, be able to play a burned game on the X-Box unless it was modified. What bothers me is I don't understand why it wouldn't work in the computer if it would work in another DVD player, that doesn't make sense. Did you try to play it in the same Computer DVD drive that you burned it with? Sound turned up?

Edit: It could be Nero that is causing the compatibility issue. You may want to try creating your DVD's with another program. I use CopytoDVD.

Uh-huh. Probably a typical erroneous download.
