I haven't been able to copy either. The source is a dvd-rw and the destination is dvd+rw, that should't make any difference in terms of copying should it?

It should not make a difference.

In Nero, select disc copy.

yes I tried copying and half way through it packed up and destroyed my disk dvd+rw I was trying to copy a dvd-/rw from my dvd+/-emprex drive 16x onto a dvd+rw disk drive and it didn't work.

Well I've updated my drivers if that's what you mean by firmware. I think it has something to do with how I have connected my new removable emprex drive. Would you know a site that tells you how to connect properly an extra removable drive correctly. It came with a tiny lead, (the instructions are awful) which I haven't used cos I don't know where it goes. I reckon with all that solved it would work properly. All I have done is inserted the new drive in the same way the first one was added and hoped it worked. It works partially but not with the software provided. I'd luv to hear from people who know how to install their drives. I understand one has to be the master, the other the slave drive but which one.

My review of this drive so far

Drive is in my Firewire enclosure with latest BTC firmware (A17J)
All burns used DVD Decrypter 3.2.3.0
All burns used the same image (iso) file 4.31 GB (4,634,443,776 bytes)

(2) Memorex -RW (TDK) burned at 2x = perfect
(2) Memorex +RW (CMC) burned at 2x = perfect
(1) Prodisc S03 burned at 4x = perfect
(2) Prodisc S04 burned at 8x = bad blocks after 3.5gb and 3.8gb
(2) Prodisc S04 burned at 4x = bad blocks after 3gb and 4gb
(1) Ritek (orangetop landscape) burned at 4x = perfect

It still doesn't solve my problem. I need to know a site which will tell me how to install it properly as I reckon that is what the problem. I don't know anything about primary and secondary drive and masters and slaves. I've now sent an email to the manufacturer to see if they can help

Had problems reading media codes with Smartburn & DVDInfo with F/W A17J. Had problems burning CDR's also and contacted BTC. They said use A07M Using the latest A07M with better results. Now I can see SKC, LeadData, CMC, Ritek media info correctly. Burns alot better. A17J is buggy so update ASAP.

Thanks...seems the coding threw me off A17J would seem a later version than A07M. I flashed mine to A07M to see if there is a difference, as it saw my Ritek, Memorex, and Prodiscs properly
