    Greektown Casino
    Motor City

Not that I'm promoting gambling - just tourism

i guess they didnt like that that the windsor casino was the most profitable casino IN THE WORLD (and i think still is in the top 3) ..

IMO -- there are WAY to many casinos around .... it is really sad seeing some of the people in there that should be home (or spending money on other things) just wasting thier day or night losing money ..

i'll be right back - i got to go buy some lottery tickets for tonights draw before i head over to the slots.

    Hello,

You can argue against all gambling. It's just something I don't do and think is a waste of time and money for others.

If a government decides to cash in on it I can't stop that and much more talk on this gets into politics so I'll leave it at that

I bet you do gamble, just not in a casino.

I think adults can decide what's best for themselves. If they feel that spending 10% of the week's grocery budget on lottery tickets is a good investment, then more power to them. It's a free country.

I personally hold to this description of lottery winning chances:

"The lottery is unique - you have the same chance of winning whether you buy a ticket or not" That's certainly true for me. I'm a horrible gambler ...therefore I don't

My only point is that if a state allows lottery they should have casinos. You can blow your whole paycheck at the party store playin your numbas just as easy..

Lottery = Only play once or twice a year when the prize money is high, like the New Years Eve $31 million draw.

    Hello,

Oh, I thought you were directing at me. The governments can do what they want. We don't have enough individual power to change that. (and that lottery/casino argument is valid and used all the time)

I just don't do it on a personal note.

That's certainly true here. We have many different Indian tribes with huge reservations near to Albuquerque - the Santa Ana, Mescalero Apache, the Jemez, the Sandia, the San Ildefonso, the Hopi, the Isleta, the Cochiti, The Acoma, the Laguna ...etc. They all have their own casinos, and are exempt from federal or state law, since an Indian reservation is considered sovereign. They have their own laws, and ours don't apply there

Funny,at least in the states, these "soverign nations" have to get approval from state governments for most of what they want to do.

I was driving thru the Everglades one time and stopped for a beer at a roadhouse on the Rez. I started talking to the Chief of the tribe. He told me he was on his way to AC to take a course on casino management, which were in the making. He told me the state was trying to block the legislation due to the possibility that casions might exploit people. I replied that that would be a first, the red man exploiting the white man. I had the whole place rolling with that one This old guy came up to me and told me I wasnt half bad for a paleface
