  1. After processing a DV AVI in CCE 2.67 SP, I end up with the following 3 files:

    *.mpa, *.mpv, *.vaf

    My dumb question(s): what do I do now? What progs open the mpv files? IOW, can I see the results of my CCE compression?

    Help me understand

    Many thanks ~ John

  2. Hi-

    Right-Click->Open With, and then see if any of your current players will open it. I use Media Player Classic (MPC).

    What do you do now? I'm in NTSC land, so next I usually run Pulldown.exe to create a 29.97fps .m2v, and then use that in my DVD authoring app of choice.

    Search Comp PM
    mpa=audio, mpv (a.k.a m2v)=video
    Next step is (like manono says) to run the mpv thru pulldown, or just author. The vaf is some internal CCE file.

    Rename the .mpv to .m2v (some authorers acccept .mpv as do some media players).

    The mpa is .mp2 audio

    .vaf is the 'first' pass video information file so it can be safely deleted AFTER the mpv is created.

    Only use pulldown.exe if the source was 23.97fps.

    Slap the .mpv and mpa into your authorer and away you go.

  5. Thanks for the great info folks. I've got that bit sorted now, with your help.

    I was trying to import the respective CCE files back into an EDITING prog, rather than an AUTHORING prog. Of course without success.

    Ach! So much to learn!
