Epson R300 Tray Problems (Epsons words of wisdom?)

I have 1400 discs printed on my first Epson R300 and more than 1500 on my R200. Obviously it's a matter of luck to get a good one. Just return the bad one to the store.

My main probelams with the R300 has been when the feeder pulls the disc tray in andnit goes to far in. Then I must pull it out through the back and try again loading it in the front.

So what I am now doing is this. When tray has been going in and I think it has gone in further than it should, I hold the tray from going in any more, and I hold on until it reverses and lines up the tray correctly.

This has saved me sometimes from starting over. The machine tells itself to reverse, and then it works right. Like all I have to do it stop the printer from over inserting the tray by hand. But this will wear on the printer I would think. And over time sttop solving the problem.

I still want a back up R200 on hand. As I know the R300 will finaly die when I am doing an important paid gig.

Yeah Hiptune I think your messing with FIRE by physically holding on to the tray!!! I'm sure whatever gears/wheels/rubber belts in the printer won't last long that way. Good luck though..

no it won't goof it up it will work fine Nudge it in that is

it find the adjustmint opticall I believe so if you nudge it a wee late no big deal wait too long though and it will simply time out. I also have to "assist" mine till it solidly grabs the disc (the people at work are VERY abusive to this stuff and ruined the clear plastic lip (dropping it etc..) so I had to cut it off and now it works fine as long as I help it for that first moment to get a bite on the tray. after that smooth sailing no problems at all.

also yes there is a program called print cd that comes with it I will see if I can dig it up for you.
