I just read in a thread that if your burner writes to dvd+r, then you can bit-set it to dvd-rom, so the dvds will play better in dvd players. How do you do this? I have a Hp300i dvd writer.

Not all DVD+R burners support bitsetting. If yours does, you can do it with DVDInfo Pro, or if you burn with Nero, you can set it to burn DVD-ROM in the Options settings. But first, your burner has to support it.

  3. Go to http://www.dvdplusrw.org/Article.asp?mid=-1&sid=-1&aid=77 and scroll down until you see HP. Download the DVD300 bitset utility. It will allow you to change the booktype of your 300i.
