Hi, I have some mpg2 files which I want to shorten before I burn them author them to DVD, but I don't want the authoring software to do it because it takes forever!

So, is there a piece of software that will just allow me to chop off the start and end of the clips?

    thanks

    Hello,

Tmpgenc can. go to file - mpeg tools - trim?? (I forgot the exact tab but it's the last one in mpeg tools).

Then you can set the start and end points. There are other trimmers in the tools section found on the left <--------

I author with TMPGEnc DVD Author and use it's Chapter Edit Cut tab to do this.

Either that or you could use Womble MPEG-VCR, which is generally regarded as the best MPEG editor ATM.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Jimijames, AviDemux is an encoder that can trim your files. It's similar to Virtualdub, it's free, and you can find it here http://avidemux.sourceforge.net/
