  1. Hi guys,
Before buying the Canopus Procoder I need to ask if it's able to convert NTSC to PAL.
I have a NTSC digital camcorder and want to write a DVD for overseas. When I capture the movie it's NTSC. What I bassicaly need is a software able to make an Mpeg2 PAL, for DVD authoring and eventualy to be able to burn a PAL DVD.
When capturing, looks like I am able to set the capture to PAL. I didn't try this yet. Can this work ? (with Adobe Premiere).
Anyone, any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks a lot guys.

  3. Great. Thanks.
So it's worth to buy it.
How about that confusion with the possible setup of the capture directly in PAL ? Is this really possible ?
Thanks a lot for the fast reply.

interlaced (set the fields opposite on the output what they were on the input - tip), i get excellent results ..

progressive -- procoder uses the time method instead of creating new frames (speeds up 23.976 to 25) , though this is adjustable in options ..

    I'm still on 1.something.

Does procorder express also convert the ac3 audio framerate? Or does this need to be done seperately (Besweet or ffmpeggui)? I ask because I currently do my rare pal/ntsc conversions with TMPGEnc express 3.0 and ac3 plug-in all in one step, but would like higher quality and speed for similar price. And if so does it retain 5.1 or down convert to 2.0 like TMPGEnc express? Thanks in advance!

no -- you need to do it in besweet ..

canopus doesnt encode ac3 (it will decode it though)
