    Hello,

Ok so what's your home theater setup???

I have seperate EVERYTHING. I don't even have matched speakers :P

I think the seperate units are so much better because each unit is DEDICATED. Nothing is sacrificed.

I have a HTIB setup. Just replaced my panny 5 disc system with a single disc system. Used the speakers from my panny for the new system.

I'm not an audiophile(sp?) so this setup is perfect for my living room

I have the Onkyo HT-770 system with my old (15+ years) Bose 201's. Sounds awsome! I got the system for like $370 a year and a half ago.

Only regrets are the crappy speaker wire ( I didn't use! ) and the non-multibrand remote (well it does some stuff... just not very well). No problem though, my Radio Shack 15-2104 with a JP1 cable and I was set.

    JSB

PS the HT-770 and the RS 15-2104 are discontinued

    Hello,

Well if it works for you.

I just like being able to pick and choose my parts of my hometheater. I like flexibility

Component in the living room, HTIB in the bedroom (not much room).
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

    Component here.
I don't like most HTIB packages.
I like to choose the components to mix and match my personal tastes. Not to mention that MOST subwoofers that come with the HTIB suck (except for the high end packages).
HTIB might be ok for small rooms or bedrooms though.

my shameful secret is that I have a home theatre in a box system purchased from wal-mart for $100

but my excuse is that i'm a university student, so I can't really afford to spend a lot of money on home theatre gear.......but i am saving up for a better system.
