I have been using TMPGenc for quite a while to encode movies to burn to DVD but I have a problem I have been unable to solve.
I have an MPEG movie which plays fine on my pc, audio is a bit low, when I encode the movie using TMPGenc, in order to burn to DVD the encoded MPEG file has no audio.
I have tried taking the audio out using Goldwave creating a separate wav and using this as the audio source.
I have been searching the forums for days trying to solve this one!!!!
I am not sure if it is related but all of a sudden when I try to frameserve an Xvid with Virtualdub, TMPGenc shows a file of only a couple of mb’s.![]()

Hello,
If you have tmpegnc dvd author you could convert just the video to m2v and then load your corrected audio file into tda sepeartely.

If you are using TMPGenc but not TMPGenc DVD Author that makes a lot of sense....
TMPGenc Plus is just a encoder, the output from TMPGenc Plus is in 2 parts. One part, as Yoda said is a ".m2v" extention and this is the video part of your video file. There will be another file that is a ".wav" extention and this is the audio part of your video file.
So if you open a video in TMPGenc Plus 2.5 do what you do to it, then when you are ready to encode it, the wizard asks you how you want to save the output. And will prompt you.
So if my original was "Football.avi" when it prompts me for my output it will say something like "Football.m2v does not exist. Would you like to create it?" I click "YES" and then a 2nd one pops up and says "Football.wav" does not exist. Would you like to create it?" I click "YES".
Now when you go to put the video together in an authoring tool, you'll need an authoring tool where you can put audio with video seperately....like TMPGenc DVD Author.
You audio exists, it's just in a different file. -
Hi
Make sure that the output stream/'System stream' from TMPGEnc is 'System(Video & audio)'. Done hundreds of encodes, never had one problem so far. Only when i first started and was splitting files and ultimately making mistakes and wasting lots of time! Why not try using the project wizard instead? Its very very easy!
I found that splitting the streams is just extra work and open to problems when you come back to multiplexing.
Re. your audio. You can go into audio settings in TMPGEnc and change bitrate for better quality and also INCREASE the volume on the output. You can also change audio sync delay etc. It also has noise reduction filters and a whole host of other filters; colour correction etc etc. VBR (Variable Bitrate Rate-2pass) will also remove/reduce alot of pixelation ( i.e. small blocks and/or blurring during quick/fast action scenes)
Dont get me wrong there are merits when demuxing a file but dont try and fix it if it wasnt broke when you got it!! If it played on PC, colours were good and very little to no pixelation, then just go straight to encoding both streams. -
Thanks, I checked and yes the stream is on video and audio.
I have also done hundreds of encodes and all of a sudden the whole lot went tits up!!!
I am using the project wizard normally but now I have to try something else.
I will try the audio settings in TMPGEnc but if there is no audio being output, oh well
I will never learn
