Hi, I've used my PCI digital Haupage TV card to record a program which I now want to put onto a DVD.
But when I try to author it, using TMPGE DVD Author, it says that the bit rate is too high for a DVD. I've recorded and authored other programs with no problem.
Is there a way that I can change the bit rate of this program, and if so, which software is best for the job?
Thanks.

The only way to change the bitrate is to re-encode, which should really be a worst-case scenario IMO. Many people have reported here that they have ignored this warning with no ill-effects, so maybe that's something you could readily try, and burn to a RW to test on your player(s).
If in doubt, Google it. -
TDA only looks at the mpeg header info for the bitrate, the real bitrate may well be much lower. You can open the mpeg in bitrate viewer to find the real or actual bitrate. If the max bitrate is below 9800kbps then you are good to go. Otherwise you will need to re-encode.

Hi
Bugster is spot on! This is just a note to remember though-when you get you're video bitrate, dont forget to factor in the audio bitrate as well. TDA will work on TOTAL bitrate.
