The computer is secured, OS is located (in the top of an old closet), I think I can find ram and hdd for free.
This weekend I throw the SB16 ISA I got for 5 bucks in and build a DOS box. This is gonna rule!
So far I have:
Epic Pinball (all the tables)
Dune
Ecstatica
and wanting:
Populous 2 (the only PC version you still find on ebay)
Ecstatica 2
Ultimate Domain.
I just need to brush up my DOS skills and find a good config to freeup enough memory running a mouse, sound, and CD driver.![]()

Hello,
I'm JEALOUS
My dos box died on me...

And I had dos cd games humming on an Amd k6!
KevinDonatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Mine will contain a Celeron 400mhz.
Thankfully I dont think any of the games I want to play are old enough to be the ones that didn't consider higher clock speeds. If so then well there are programs to fix that.
Also I have an old Voodoo2 that as soon as I find a passthrough cable I'll see if that works for some GL Quake action. -
Hello,
I had a VOODOO 1 that I think worked on Quake 1 if I remember right....

GLQuake was a thing of beauty. I still remember playing it on a custom level (basically, the inside of a huge sphere on thin platforms) and using the nail gun... and being able to SEE the nails fly across the level.

Dune, I do not even want to think about how many hours I spent playing that.

I used to like doom and all the mods for that, I had a terminator 2 mod.

Speaking of nukes, did you ever play Shadow Warrior? I used to love the taunts, like "Ohhhh, little tiny dick"Originally Posted by VCDHunter

Hello,
How about Duke Nukem??? "Come get some!"

Yeah. Late '90s. Good game and not over-taxing on resources, yet you could get the GL version which had quite nice textures, like Quake GL version did.Originally Posted by VCDHunter
The thing I liked besides the taunts was the rocket launcher which would use a nuclear warhead, if you couold find it. The problem is you need to get some major cover lined up before you launch it. It had a 5-second countdown

Looks like Dai Katana to me, its not that is it ? I played one demo of that and it was enough. Duke Nukem is cool but I can't play it anymore.

Its the controls. I'm so used to the setup I use now (A,S,D + Mouse) that the times I tried playing it I just got pissed off.Originally Posted by Hardcoreruss
