  1. Hi, my first post in here, hope it is in the right place =)

The thing is, I usually capture episodes that I like on my satelitte receiver, (stored in .ts (sort of mpeg2)) but when I tried to encode it to divx I got this result.

Look at the bad result, you can see horizontal lines everywhere.
I know the source should be "perfect" since its capped from a digital broadcast. Hope anyone could help me.

    In advance, thanks =)

There's no problem with adding images, just put this in your post:
    Code:
    [*img]image.ext[/img*]
(without the *'s) where image.ext is for example photo.jpg and make sure that you have either a JPG, GIF or PNG file, and it's less than 150KB, then click the browse button (just above the submit button), and browse to your picture, then click the submit button.

I'd say it's just interlacing - totally normal.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  4. Sorry, was thinking about the "upload file" feature.
Anyways, these lines are in the whole movie now and than. Arent there a way to get rid of them?

    Read this:
    http://www.digitalfaq.com/capture/interlace.htm

INTERLACE is good. Do not remove it unless required. DIVX is supposed to use interlace, and playback progressive when on computer (as far as I know).

    Interlacing:

    after deinterlacing:

Probably the easiest (and the best IMO) way to get rid of them is to play them in a player that deinterlaces properly (such as PowerDVD or WinDVD). Windows Media Player will not play them correctly
    If in doubt, Google it.

That 100fps.com "deinterlaced" images has to be fake. It has zero artifacts. That isnt the way it works.

It looks like a static frame before or after the interlaced one.

    VERY DECEPTIVE IMAGE.

True, but for the purposes of this demonstration, I think it will suffice

Suddenly our OP has gone all silent though
    If in doubt, Google it.

  11. Hi, I read through the article, thank you for the info.
However this movie is not going to become a dvd, just played in a couple of computers.

(I tried to select 25fps "progressive" (whatever that means) and it were much better)
