  1. Hey there everyone. I am trying to create some .bup files for a dvd to burn. I tried to do some research on how to do this and it looks like IFOEdit is the program that works the best.

I have 4 .vob files I need to create .bup files for because Nero is complaining that i dont have them....fair enough.

Well the guide I read says to push the Create IFOs button in IFOEdit and save in the same location. It goes through all of the .vobs (even though I only selected the first one).....however the only .bup file it leaves me with is VTS_01_0.BUP and Video_TS.BUP.

What happened to the .bup files for .vob 2,3,and 4? Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting that is not correct?

It's entirely possible I don't know what the hell I am doing.....thats probably it, but just need to know for sure

Any help you could give me would be appreciated.

    Thanks

That is all you should need Hatz. Have you tried burning the dvd after you got the .bup files?

A BUP file is just a BackUP for your IFO file(s). The *easiest* way to create these is just make a copy of the IFO files and rename their extensions .BUP.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  5. Son of bitch that was some fast responses. Thank you very much for the information.

I ended up renaming them like Jimmalenko suggested because Nero was still asking for a .bup file for every .vob.

Now I'm getting an error stating i am missing VTS_01_1.VOB.

I don't even have that file on my hard drive.......do I need to re-rip it again? I am not sure if I remember seeing that file.

Should I go ahead and burn it anyways like nero asks? Do I need this file? Looks like I might be dusting off the old DVD-RW to test it. This is the only file it says it is missing now......don't think it even said anything about that in the previous error.

Once again, thanks again for the fast as hell responses. I appreciate it.

  9. It's not downloaded.......its ripped from a dvd using DVD Decrypter. I used the default selections it recommends or whatever for it to fit on a single dvdr.

Usually Decrypter works fine....for some reason it must have skipped over that file that it needs. Or it looks like I might just use DVDShrink for this one.

As for what am I trying to do.....shit i dont know anymore :P :P

Is there something in one of those IFO's that says it needs that file? I guess you should tell me to just open up DVDShrink and redo it.....might be easier......

    Thanks again.

I'm not familiar with this mode of DVDDecrypter you're talking about - I've never heard of it being able to recommend what will fit onto a single DVDr. I think you might be talking about IFO mode

DVDDecrypter > File Mode > Rip all Files. DVDShrink > Open Files. Output. Burn. Job's right
    If in doubt, Google it.

  11. Thanks again Jimmalenko. I will end up doing it with dvdshrink. And youre right about IFO mode...hehe. That's what I was getting....unfortunetely I had no idea what the hell i was talking about.

I also tried a test burn with my dvd-rw........Lite-On standalone recognized it as a dvd.....said play screen and then went to stop. Whelp....here goes another rip with my damn 4x burner.

    Thanks again for the help.
